Having graduated with a first-class Bachelor’s degree in English from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), I am an English Language tutor based in Hong Kong SAR. I have been working in the private supplementary education sector to prepare secondary school students for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) English Language examination.
As a prospective research postgraduate student, I would like to research on instructed second language acquisition (ISLA). To be more specific, I hope to investigate ways in which teachers can utilise technology, such as generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), to enhance the second language learning of English morphosyntax. My research interests also include variationist sociolinguistics as I am particularly intrigued by the social meanings of Cantonese-English code-switching within the regional context of Hong Kong.
Seeking to grow professionally as a teacher/researcher, I aspire to narrow the gap between research and pedagogy with a view to maximising their mutual benefits.

A junior secondary (S.1-S.3) summer course jointly taught by me and Kenneth will be offered starting from mid-July.

At Beacon College, I led a 90-minute remedial workshop on 10 common English grammar mistakes, which targeted at low-to-intermediate learners. The mistakes under investigation included T-to-C movements in embedded interrogative clauses, incorrect verb forms (e.g., to-infinitive) in the mandative subjunctive, comma splices and dangling participles.
